In your capacity as Manager, Business IT Solutions, you will report to the Senior Director, Delivery Excellence, in the Digital and Technology business unit, which provides Star Alliance member airlines with expert knowledge in the areas of IT Architecture, IT Delivery, IT Operations, IT Security, and Project Management.
You will work primarily (but not exclusively) with the Airport Experience team who are part of the Customer Experience business unit. This team of product owners develop and apply digital and self-service technologies to offer customers efficient and seamless travel services. The team’s, focus is to improve the passengers’ experience at airport touchpoints, manages transfer baggage handling and provides connection services to customers transferring between different Star Alliance member airlines.
Your role will be to work closely with the Star Alliance product owner to develop and manage implementation of Star Alliance digital solutions across airline, airports and external ecosystems. You will also assume technical ownership of certain Star Alliance applications. This is a challenging role for the successful candidate who is motivated to drive Star Alliance’s business IT solutions.
Job Summary
- Develop and manage Star Alliance digital solutions across airlines, airports and external ecosystem, including solution architecture, coordinating development efforts between different development teams, user acceptance tests, and go-live
- Organise project meetings, monitor and manage project schedules
- Coordinate with all stakeholders for execution of projects, to include requirements gathering as well as translating business requirements to functional requirements and ensuring technical feasibility
- Review vendors’ solution proposal and SOWs to ensure business and functional requirements are met and addressed
- Define product strategies, recommend new product features and provide continuous improvements to existing products
- Refine the product backlog including new features, enablers and technical debt
- Oversee the resolution of tech-related issues and bugs with vendors to ensure compliance with standards and SLAs, to achieve optimal performance
- Coordinate and manage architectural decisions with all relevant stakeholders
- Lead the technical aspects in the solution design phase
- Ensure delivered products provide functionality as designed
- Stakeholder management includes ensuring timely and accurate communication to address all enquiries
Your Profile
- Completed studies in Computer Science or related field
- Experience managing or coordinating development teams e.g. Team Lead, Tech Lead or Scrum Master
- Experience/familiarity with face recognition technology or biometrics
- Experience with technical integrations e.g. API, MQ, ETL etc.
- Experience with Airline IT ecosystem is preferred, for example PSS, DCS, eCommerce, etc., understanding of new technology and standards such as NDC, Offer & Order, etc.
- Experienced presenter/trainer in larger workshop environments, ability to prepare effective PowerPoint presentations
- Experience in multicultural environments and multiple stakeholder management and being able to work with a geographically dispersed team of stakeholders
- Able to lead large workshops as well as facilitate technical discussions
- Takes initiative and self-motivated, works cohesively in a team
- Highly organised and possess the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks concurrently
- Willingness to travel
- High level of proficiency in English is essential, as it is the sole language used for communication with Star Alliance Member Airlines and other external stakeholders
