Procurement Executive

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine System Asia Pte. Ltd.

  • Manage MHIESA interest while collaborating with external party in order to achieve MHIESA’s Mission Vision and Values.

1. Purchasing Process

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the procurement process for Indirect Material and Services with a particular emphasis on generator set components.
  • Plan, issue, and track Purchase Orders, ensuring adherence to delivery and shipment schedules for overseas suppliers.
  • Negotiate with international suppliers on generator set parts supply and delivery.
  • Conduct cost analysis for primary and alternative parts, considering international market dynamics.
  • Supervise purchasing functions, emphasizing the unique challenges of sourcing generator set components.
  • Represent the Procurement function in non-standard projects, especially those related to generator set requirements.


2. Partner Management

  • Source and qualify new international vendors for generator set components, focusing on price negotiation and lead time reduction.
  • Conduct vendor qualification audits, collaborating closely with the Quality department, ensuring compliance with generator set specifications.
  • Confirm generator set parts specifications during sourcing to align with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Initiate Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes for new generator set parts based on the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Furnish accurate forecasts for long lead time and critical components, collaborating with other departments to optimize generator set supply chains.

3. Business Risk Management

  • Plan, schedule, control inventory, and expedite generator set parts for production, addressing the challenges of limited reliable sources.
  • Implement internal procurement strategies to cater to high delivery and short lead time requirements specific to generator set manufacturing.
  • Leverage purchasing and business risk management approaches, such as specialized contracts, to navigate international uncertainties.
  • Analyze trends in raw material prices, initiating countermeasures with a focus on the generator set business.

4. Compliance Control

  • Assist in ISO annual performance reviews for international vendors, with a specific emphasis on adherence to generator set specifications.
  • Resolve supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues with overseas vendors, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

5. Analytics

  • Update internal databases with order details, specifically focusing on generator set components.
  • Utilize analytics programs to enhance procurement performance, optimizing processes for generator set procurement.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on departmental Purchase Order issuance, actively monitoring the status of outstanding orders for generator set requirements.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc duties as assigned, considering the dynamic nature of generator set manufacturing.

6. Indirect Material and Service Procurement

  • Lead and manage MHIESA's indirect procurement, including a thorough review of long-term service contracts, with a focus on generator set services and components.
  • Oversee Production indirect procurement for purchases, ensuring efficiency in the procurement processes related to generator set components.

7. Cost Down

  • Initiate and manage collaborations with partners for Value Analysis (VA) activities, with a keen focus on cost reduction strategies specific to the generator set business.
  • Lead cost-down activities for both new and existing generator set products, fostering collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Requirement

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain or preferably in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic & Mechanical).
  • At least 2 years of working experience in MNC Manufacturing Industry setup.
  • Experience in global suppliers and overseas parts management will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially in MS. Excel and data analysis.
  • Understand MRP / experience in SAP will be an added advantage.
  • Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, meticulous with positive attitude, independent & team player.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work well under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to grow, take on new responsibilities and establish yourself on our team.
