MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Job Description:

  • Create detailed drawings and designs, technical specifications, and plans.
  • Conduct research and development activities to enhance the performance, efficiency, and safety of fire suppression products.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials for construction of cylinders, ensuring compatibility with fire suppression agents and compliance with industry standards.
  • Oversee the prototyping and testing process, conducting performance evaluations and making necessary adjustments to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, UL and FM Global) and ensure products meet all necessary certifications and approvals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Production and Sales, to ensure seamless product development and production processes.
  • Analyze production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement cost-effective design solutions without compromising safety or quality.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues related to product design, production, or performance.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the Fire Suppression Industry or a related field.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Strong understanding of materials science and selection, particularly those suitable for high-pressure applications and fire-resistant environments.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, UL and FM Global) governing fire suppression systems and components.
  • Experience with design validation, prototyping, and testing procedures, including knowledge of testing standards.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations, stress analysis, and simulations to validate design integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to address engineering challenges.
