Disney Consumer Products represents a multi category business from Apparel to Furniture, School Bags to Toys, Tissue Paper to Cosmetics we are present in over 100 categories. Ours is a licensing model, wherein we work with a wide spread of partners which include Local Distributors to Large MNC’s – whom we refer to as our licensees. They take up rights for using our popular stories and characters on their product to drive a business objective. Cross Border Strategy
China being the hub of manufacturing and a key growth market with a large number of licensing partner eager to expand their business to Southeast Asian and South Asian countries, represents a large business opportunity. We would like to deploy a resource to help us work with these partners. Given the China partners are based in China, we're looking for a driven individual who is comfortable traveling to China and other Southeast markets frequently to drive market entry and deployment.
A key role within the Disney Regional Brand Commercialization SAMENA (South East Asia, South Asia and Middle East) team that will encompass the management and delivery of Cross Border programme - from participating in the setting of regional Cross-Border strategy and implementation plan, through to collaboration & co-ordination with the Disney APAC and country team, to ensure the most effective & efficient routes to market are identified and secured to enable the successful launch of the projects in a key markets across SAMENA.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve Cross-Border Commerce Revenue Target as per AOP
- Drive market entry and successful deployment of China licensees in SAMENA
- Facilitate discussion between China partners and local distributors/retailers to maximize the business
- Identify white spaces that can be filled through China-based Licensees in SAMENA, working closely with local category teams
- Set up and drive discussions from on-boarding to periodic updates between China partners and SAMENA (Southeast Asia+India+Middle East/North Africa) local teams.
- Maintain trackers, catalogue, other useful information for easy accessibility by the local SAMENA teams.
- Keep track of the latest product trends across categories and share updates with the SAMENA team periodically.
- Bridge the language gap between China partners and SAMENA Disney Team and/or Partners.
- Pre-empt supply chain challenges that may arise due to socio-political impacts, raw material costs, China internal situation etc.
Requirements:
- Commercial and or marketing experience across several key markets in SAMENA, sales/marketing background preferred
- At least 6-8 years experience in consumer products, FMCG, and or retail background
- Commercially focused and comfortable with achieving targets and objectives laid out
- Degree in business studies, marketing or a related field
- Good oratory skills with ability to present and facilitate internal and external meetings in both English and Mandarin
- Strong with numbers and have a well-developed understanding of commercials - margins, value-chain etc.
- Builds relationships - Establishes external relationships with key stakeholders. Engages colleagues across the Disney organisation to optimise performance
- Well-organized individual with strong work ethics
- Strong bias for action and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Resourceful - ability to find solutions to help move things along
- An excellent proficiency and command of spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese language is required
- Role involves international travel
