We are seeking a senior, professional business development associate director who has the interest and aptitude to grow their career in a fast-paced independent trust company.

The candidate is likely to be one with extensive experience gained from the financial services industry, along with a strong network of High-Net-Worth clients and intermediaries.

The candidate is familiar with the trust regulations in Singapore and can advise these High-Net-Worth clients and their advisors on their succession plans.

Experienced trust administrators, trust relationship managers and trust accountants who wish to make a career transition into a business development role are welcome to apply.

We are open to hire for a hybrid role where the candidate will assist with trust administration/trust accounting/trust relationship management while developing their book of trust clients.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Identify and develop a sustainable and profitable book of business
  • Assist in the planning and direction of the organisation’s activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial performance
  • Identify and optimise opportunities for business growth and development to ensure continued success and expansion of the business
  • Promote standards of business and behaviour in line with Group requirements, ensuring implementation of and adherence to Group policies and working closely with others to ensure that exceptions are kept to minimum and legal requirements are respected
  • Ensure that all Private Client Services staff have an understanding of the transactions they are working on, provide technical support and training to them as and when required
  • Perform at optimum levels to grow the business and nurture new and existing client relationships
  • Administer a portfolio of Private clients and ensure that client relationships and transactions are managed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Develop effective relationships and work closely with other Directors to maximise opportunities for cross referrals and global developments
  • Develop teams of motivated, highly proficient administrators who act in accordance with the Company’s values and in parallel to impeccable service levels
  • Maintain and develop the organisation’s culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, clients, partners and regulatory/official bodies
  • Develop and implement a rigorous approach to compliance and quality in line with Group and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure client expectations are properly managed and valuable relationships are nurtured to maximise the reputation of the team in the market and the potential for repeat work and referrals

In addition to the duties listed above, you may be required to perform any other ad hoc duties or projects as requested by the Head of Private Clients.

  • Instrumental in building a culture which recognises the importance of developing business relationships based on trust and integrity

Required Skills & Experience

  • Substantial experience in the financial industry including experience at senior management level
  • A comprehensive understanding of their subject area to explain both the concept and principles to clients and intermediaries
  • The ability to communicate and delegate technical matters appropriately
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Extensive understanding of Private Client or Trust related products and services
  • Bachelor degree in Business or Finance, or an LLB. STEP international Diploma in Trust and Estate Planning will be viewed favourably
  • MAS Fit and Proper criteria

  • Strong influence, coaching and consulting skills in building lasting working relationship
  • Initiative and the ability to pre-empt issues and challenges
  • The ability to perform effectively and with integrity under pressure
  • Willing to “roll up the sleeves” and multitask to meet deadlines
  • Excel in analytical skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to details
