The Warehouse Hotel is a meticulously restored 37-room modern boutique hotel in Robertson Quay, part of the prestigious Design Hotels portfolio. Historically detailed architecture bridges heritage and the contemporary, with thoughtful hospitality at its core.
We are looking for a passionate Sales Manager / Event Sales Manager to carry out all aspects of a profit and service driven sales on behalf of the hotel in accordance with the objectives established in the marketing plan. He/she will ensure that sales activities, top accounts and bookings are focused to yield maximum rooms and catering revenue.
Key areas of responsibilities – include but are not limited to:
- Identify new marketing opportunities via demographics, market forces, and key partnerships through market research
- Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the property business plan.
- Employ revenue management techniques and strategies to recommend corporate rate proposals.
- Accurately prepare and present requests for proposals in order for both client and hotel to receive a good value.
- Identify, solicit & prospect new business opportunities with potential revenue for all areas of the Hotel i.e. Guestrooms (Transient & Groups), catering events, F&B outlets, Retail etc..
- Prospect for new contract business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc.
- Develop, implement and constantly modify sales action plans.
- Negotiate and close contracts that meet the hotel's business plan objectives - Desired arrival, departure and volume patterns must be met.
- Manages and coordinates catering and conference service activities and client specifications to deliver smooth execution of executive meetings and events requiring space, food and beverage services.
- Manages room blocks and coordinates the collection of attrition for groups with the Reservations and Accounting departments.
- Develop and distribute communications relating to planning and execution of group functions, including, but not limited to group resumes, banquet event orders, and room sets according to established guidelines.
- Provides accurate group revenue and expense forecasts according to established guidelines.
- Manages and distributes function and event changes to operating departments during function execution.
- Monitors client specifications to promote smooth execution and client satisfaction.
- May be called on to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitzes, travel and work extended hours to achieve departmental goals.
- Sustaining rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits by exploring specific needs and anticipating opportunities.
- All other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Hotel Management and/or Sales & Marketing
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in handling Proactive Sales
- Strong overall sales skills with sales system knowledge
- Understanding of hotel & business mix needs of transient, group and catering business
- Self-confidence, energetic & enthusiastic
- Ability to present ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well-organized manner
- Excellent interpersonal conflict management skills
- Excellent software knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Office)
- Understanding and achieve team and individual goals
- Effective time management skills
