Job responsibilities:
- Prepare and present food dishes according to required specifications in a timely manner.
- Prepare and ensure the ingredients used to produce the dishes meet excellent standards and quality.
- Follow according to standard presentation style for dish plating.
- Assist in creating and preparing menu items and daily specials.
- Ensure freshness of the ingredients.
- Inspect and clean the kitchen, kitchen equipment and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food handling practices
- Assist in monthly inventory counts and record food wastages.
- Train, guide and encourage junior cooks to excel in their daily job duties; performs supervisory role.
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner.
- Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene policies and procedures and ensure proper storage methods.
- Report all items of interest to Back of House in charge (ie. Accidents, equipment malfunctions, menu items, problems or shortage of supplies)
Job requirements:
- Minimum equivalent of GCE āNā level or Certificate in F&B Service.
- Minimum 2 years working experience in fast-paced restaurant service in the same capacity.
- Must have sound F&B knowledge and Food Hygiene Certificate
- Perform tasks independently or with minimum supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good supervisory skills.
- Strong team player, whilst still having the ability to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
