Role Purpose:
To perform independently all aspects of Quality activities for the assigned area/discipline which include stage quality control and inspection, receiving inspection and material/equipment verification, reviewing and approving of tests and ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented address quality gaps/lapses. (The main disciplines are Structure, Piping, Painting, Electrical and Mechanical).
Independent Quality Control and Inspection Work - Performs stage QC and inspection work at site in line with the agreed inspection and test plan and as per applicable drawings and procedures. Also participates in multi-discipline mechanical completion/handover inspections as necessary.
Verifies and Approves Vendor Tests and Reports - Witnesses and approves tests (including applicable destructive and non-destructive tests), as well as Quality inspection and testing reports submitted by contractor/vendor to ensure adherance to quality requirements
Monitoring and Prevention of Incidents - Raises Observations and NCR reports and liaises with the Classification Certification Authority/Customer on acceptance of work and providing support in incident notification and investigation, as well as implementation of preventive measures.
Agility to Evolving Specifications - Adheres to change management procedure when technical/site queries are raised and agreed by relevant parties if any deviation to Specifications/approved procedures is required
Monitoring of the Delivery Process - Manages timely resolution of quality issues arising from each vendor to ensure the equipment/package arrives on site with zero / minimal carry-over work.
Raising Punch Lists - Witnesses and completes applicable A-ITR’s by verifying each line item, as well as raises punch-lists and clears rectification of punches as applicable in respective discipline, to ensure the delivery in full with adherence to quality requirements
Qualifications:
Structure – CSWIP 3.1/AWS or Equivalent.
Piping – CSWIP 3.1 /API 570 or Equivalent.
Painting – NACE level II or Equivalent.
Electrical – ATEX or Equivalent.
Mechanical- Certifications related to mechanical discipline, like API 510 preferred.
Well written english and spoken English. Addtional advantage if able to speak and write in Japanese.
Technical Competencies:
- Working knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, classification
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
