Newbridge is currently collaborating with a prominent manufacturing client to seek out a capable Regional Tax Manager specializing in Policy Development.
Responsibilities:
Tax Governance in Asia:
- Overseeing tax models across multiple Asian regions, including China, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and India.
- Assisting in crafting corporate tax structures and strategies for tax audit defense.
- Ensuring continuous compliance with prevailing tax regulations and proactively mitigating tax risks.
Policy Implementation:
- Coordinating and managing the tax positions of legal entities in Asia to align with legislation and corporate guidelines.
- Preparing, maintaining, and executing tax structures aligned with Corporate Tax Strategy and Policies.
- Ensuring local tax and transfer pricing obligations are fulfilled while optimizing cost and revenue impact.
Supporting Asia Operations:
- Gathering and assessing internal and external data to support the Group's tax strategy.
- Providing tax advice on group restructuring.
- Identifying tax risks and collaborating with wider teams to optimize opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Involvement in tax incentive initiatives and monitoring compliance with incentive conditions.
- Staying informed about tax developments in Asia and China.
- Tax Advisory for International Business:
- Offering tax guidance in accordance with legislation and corporate governance.
- Developing tax plans for cross-border business activities and transactions.
- Advising on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, investments, and divestments.
Transfer Pricing:
- Ensuring compliance with local Transfer Pricing requirements and group Transfer Pricing policies.
- Drafting transfer pricing reports and coordinating financial analysis to support pricing policies.
- Meeting transfer pricing obligations under local regulations.
- Implementing transfer pricing policies in line with the company's Tax Policy.
- Managing the Group's Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) responsibilities.
- Initiating global/corporate tax compliance, including considerations related to BEPS Pillar 2.
Tax Compliance:
- Managing tax positions and models for all Asian entities.
- Assisting the finance team in interacting with tax authorities and global tax consultants.
- Coordinating the tax compliance process for all Asian and Chinese entities to ensure timely filing of tax returns.
Requirements:
- Hold an academic degree in accounting, tax law, or tax economics.
- Possess over 7 years of experience in an (international) business environment, with approximately 5 years in a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Demonstrate strong international tax knowledge and practical expertise, particularly in cross-border taxation and Asian business modeling structures.
- Have experience in engaging with local tax authorities at various levels.
- Exhibit knowledge of transfer pricing principles and regulatory environments.
- Display solid business acumen, commercial understanding, and awareness of business complexities.
- Possess robust technical, advisory, and numerical analytical skills.
- Be a hands-on, independent professional capable of multitasking and prioritizing.
- Excel in building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, with strong teamwork skills.
- Be motivated and capable of translating tax planning into tax accounting and compliance.
- Show proficiency in project management.
- Identify local tax opportunities and risks effectively.
- Have a good command of both English and Mandarin( to communicate with team in china) languages.
