Senior APAC Trade Compliance Executive


Job Description


  • Supporting the Regional Head in evaluating the current state, setting objectives, and implementing strategies. Through the introduction of innovative work methodologies and collaboration with regional stakeholders, you aim to elevate the customs setup in the APAC region into a trusted and proactive function that enhances business value.
  • Identify and communicate customs-related risks and opportunities to the Head of Customs APAC, peers in the Group Customs team, and other stakeholders in the region.
  • Collaborate with the regional Head and the entire customs community to develop, roll out, and maintain a customs governance framework, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and sustainability in customs compliance across the region and beyond.
  • Conduct customs-specific training in collaboration with the Global Knowledge Manager, adhere to legislation and authorities, and implement measures to enhance performance and compliance across operational teams, shared service centers, and third-party service providers.
  • Address customs-related requests with timely and detailed work plans, resource schedules, project estimates, and status reports.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with regional customs and regulatory authorities, provide advice on customs procedures to reduce duty obligations, prepare assessments and reports, monitor legal developments, and participate in customs audits as needed.

Requirement.


  • Minimum University degree within business/finance/informatics or an interdisciplinary education, such as international business law or business informatics.
  • You have gained corporate experience within customs/taxes/controlling or finance or have been working for a multinational business advisory company in the area of customs.
  • You are familiar with Free Trade Agreements and their application in Asia
  • You demonstrate good communication skills, openness, a cooperative working style and a distinct ability to work with people across cultures and countries.
  • Fluent English both in speaking and writing.
  • You prefer a team-oriented way of working and show high assertiveness
