Job Purpose
This position is responsible for the outreach and implementation of the various Humanitarian Engagement initiatives of the Global Engagement department. The role involves a combination of strategic thinking, event planning and stakeholder management.
Job Specification
1. Outreach and Implementation:
● Organise and run iconic events such as the Singapore Humanitarian Conference and Singapore International Humanitarian Law Roundtable ensuring its success and alignment with organisational goals.
● Plan and carry out activities to involve a broad audience in humanitarian efforts, sharing information and expertise on specific topics.
2. Event Organisation and Management:
● Organise events and multi stakeholder meetings aligned with the objectives of SRC’s Humanitarian Engagement initiatives
● Ensure seamless execution of events and programmes to enhance the impact of the initiatives
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
● Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders to enhance the impact and reach of planned activities.
● Organise roundtable discussions, meetings and events fostering dialogue and exchange of ideas within the humanitarian community.
4. Volunteer Management
● Mobilise volunteers in the planning and execution of events
● Engage and develop volunteers to become active agents for Humanitarian Engagement
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Global Affairs, Development/Humanitarian Studies, Sociology, International Relations)
● Some knowledge and understanding of the humanitarian landscape, International Humanitarian Law and/or global politics is preferred.
● Demonstrated some experience in organising and managing events, conferences, and delegations.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
● Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
