Your Focus
As Payroll Associate, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all Singapore employees in accordance to local statutory employment regulation. You will be working closely with Payroll Vendors, HR and Finance team. In addition, the job scope encompasses management of travel and business expense claims with the company’s in-house service centre. You are responsible for compliance of all relevant internal controls, country, international laws, rules and regulations as well as time reporting policies while working in an environment of strict deadlines and confidentiality.
The Payroll Associate will report to Singapore Company Controller.
You will spend your time…
- Processing payrolls for all Singapore employees
- Responsible for accurate processing of all aspects of the payroll process including but not limited to:
- maintaining and processing time and attendance records
- processing payroll deductions
- processing compensation changes, overtime, shift changes and withholding adjustments.
- Coordinating with Human Resources to ensure all SAP employee information is reflected in payroll accurately and with appropriate documentation retained for auditing verification.
- Responding to inquiries from employees.
- Serve as point of contact for payroll and timekeeping system, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Preparing and providing required payroll / travel and business expense related information needed for month end and general ledger posting.
- Tracking and preparing recharge of payroll related costs to affiliates.
- Completing / reviewing of periodic and year-end reporting information.
- Responding to auditor inquiries.
- Preparing responses to inquiries and requests from local tax and government authorities.
- Providing support in Finance / payroll system testing and implementation projects.
- Supporting the testing of employee data and data integrity, together with support from the payroll vendor.
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Essential Skills
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or any other relevant discipline.
- A highly numerate individual, able to present information in an accurate and succinct way.
- Strong knowledge of local personal tax regulations and implications.
- Firm understanding of payroll processing principles.
- Ability to perform under strict deadlines and under a high-volume environment where multi-tasking is essential.
- Strong familiarity with payroll and, time and attendance tools.
- SAP / ERP systems, Finance and Accounting system knowledge.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite especially Excel and Word.
- Detailed oriented and organized.
Essential Experience
- 3-5 years proven track record in payroll and timekeeping management experience in manufacturing industry.
- Experience in working across functional areas to accomplish objectives.
- SAP and advance Excel experience preferred.
- Possess a logical and methodical work manner accompanied by high level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work in matrix environment with different business leaders and cross functional teams.
