Summary
The Broadcast IT Specialist is responsible for the smooth functioning of the Broadcast IT related systems, including and not limited to the Broadcast Management System, Media Asset Management System, TX Automation Playlist & As-run interface, EPG reports and gateways, Audience Ratings System, Editing & Graphic system, plus all relevant interfaces required to create the beIN SPORTS APAC linear channels and OTT services. Analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot faults and provide solutions to meet the business requirements. This position will assist the Broadcast IT Lead to work with the various business units in beIN Asia Pacific in promoting productivity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality support for the Broadcast Management System (BMS) and other media solutions plus all in-house developed applications to ensure the availability of service.
- Working with user groups to facilitate, document and propose appropriate automation/integration solutions and processes as well as coordinate and assist support/training initiatives. Where necessary, gathers requirements and conducts systems analysis.
- Liaise with various departments within the organization for day-to-day requirements & future improvements in the system.
- Manage and ensure smooth upgrades of BMS and other media solutions,
- Implement and deliver approved application enhancements.
- Manage applications related issues, conduct qualification, raise tickets, propose resolution, and gather sign-off, develop, test and deploy updates.
- Participate in solutions’ evaluation as well as in rollout of new systems / solutions.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Studies or broadcast engineering or related qualification.
- Experience in software application development, workflow design, process automation, and system integration.
- Ability to write scripts in languages such as SQL/VBScript/DOS and familiar with CSV/XML/HTML/JSON, REST API and AWS cloud technology will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of Sports/Entertainment channel/feed/streaming, and advantageous to have experience in broadcast/media/OTT/VOD.
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and handle shifting priorities and carry on through task completion.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to acquire necessary technological and business knowledge in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication and documentation skills.
