General Summary:
A regional position, assisting the IT Infrastructure team in the design and implementation of the BDP International network as well as providing advanced level support for network services, network maintenance, switches, routers, security appliances, communication equipment and wireless network support. Global support of Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Firewalls, Load Balancers and WAFs. Assist the help desk team with service escalations as appropriate.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer an existing global network environment as well as proposing design improvements and making recommendations and implementations to achieve best practices
- Design, implement, and support network technologies to include Cisco, Palo Alto, WiFi and other hardware / software platforms.
- Assist with the support of branch office locations, their local networks, and their connectivity to the BDP global network.
- Monitor and maintain all network / WAN connectivity to support branch office communications
- Collaborate with other network staff to find solutions to complex networking issues.
- Assist with design and structure of VPN Tunnels
- Interact with internal clients to resolve issues; communicate with internal clients in a professional manner maintaining discretion.
- Provide support to Systems, Telecom and Support teams when escalated
- Assist with the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
- Assists with the selection presentation and purchase of software, hardware, and other IT solutions
Requirements
Critical:
- Understanding of the issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure firewalls and Load Balancers in a Hybrid environment
- Strong proficiency with VPN Tunnels
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Security and NAT policies
- Working knowledge with Palo Alto firewalls (PCNSE or PCNSA a plus)
- Experience configuring and maintaining Layer 2 and layer 3 networking BGP and OSPF.
- Experience setting up Global Protect Policies and HIP-Based Policy checks
- Azure and AWS Security Policies
- Experience configuring and maintaining Layer 2 and layer 3 networking with 802.1q (VLANs), 802.1af/at (PoE), 802.1d (STP), BGP, OSPF, LACP
Need to be:
- Have 5 or more years of experience
- Experience implementing and maintaining Firewall and Security Policies
- Able to troubleshoot network issues from network connectivity, routing, and firewall issues, through DNS and higher-level protocols
- Excellent with verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent with documentation skills
Familiarity with:
- Active directory and group policies
- Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
- DNS and DHCP
- Azure traffic manager
- AWS Route 53
- DNS and DHCP in a Windows environment
- Wireless Access Points and wireless security protocols such as EAP with RADIUS
