Microtube Technologies is looking for a Product Engineer to develop haptics for our bespoke gloves for a wide range of application in healthcare training and industrial simulation.
Product Engineer
As a Product Engineer in Microtube Technologies, you will be primarily responsible for development, testing, fabrication and assembly of glove and development kits. This candidate will work with the engineers in development and improvement of sensor and haptics solutions. This position reports to the Principal Designer and interfaces with the Technical team.
Duties and responsibilities
· Perform fabrication, testing and assembly of in-house products
· Assists in the product design and development of wearables involving sensors and haptics
· Operate test equipment and conduct root cause failure analysis
· Design, fabricate, and evaluate components for use in wearables
· Produce design documentation and execute test procedures
· Develop and execute verification/validation testing strategy
· Recommend risk mitigation actions and maintain risk management file
· Participate in quality improvement process
· Works independently and as part of a team with work checked on a regular basis
· Demonstrate technical competency and independent solution thinking
Qualifications and desired skills
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or closely related field
· Relevant experience in textile engineering will be advantageous
· Experienced in the use of general engineering lab equipment.
· Fine hand skills for soldering and other similar benchtop assembly processes
· Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
