About the Penetration Tester Role

As a Penetration Tester, you will be responsible for conducting penetration tests and vulnerability assessments for various technologies, such as web applications, mobile applications, and infrastructure. You will also identify and exploit vulnerabilities, write clear and concise reports, and provide recommendations for remediation. You will work closely with other team members and clients to deliver high-quality and timely results.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Relevant penetration testing certifications, preferably OSCP with a view of becoming a CREST Registered Tester
• IT Security experience, preferably in a Professional Security Service environment
• A strong knowledge of various operating systems, networks, and applications, especially Linux, Windows, Active Directory, TCP/IP, client-server technologies, virtualization, and cloud
• Proficiency in a programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or C++, and shell scripting
• Experience with penetration testing tools and frameworks, such as Metasploit, Nmap, Nessus, Burp Suite, etc.
• An interest and ability in at least three of the following areas: security tools development, security testing, red teaming, attack simulation, web security, network security, mobile security, code review, etc.
• Good project management, consulting, customer service, and technology skills
• Good communication, presentation, and writing skills
• A team player who can perform under pressure and tight deadlines
• A creative and passionate person who is excited about learning new skills and technologies
