Responsibilities

  • As the Business Development Director, your role encompasses pivotal responsibilities aimed at supporting and delivering on the production of bids and tender responses. You are tasked with leading various aspects of the sales process, both on a large scale through our Commercial team and strategic technology partnerships, as well as independently or with collaborative efforts from other members of the commercial team for smaller opportunities.
  • Your duties extend to overseeing the execution of contracts awarded, encompassing client engagement, commercial negotiations, contracting, delivery practice engagement, and project mobilization. Additionally, you are entrusted with the management of acquired customer accounts and partner engagements, ensuring robust relationships and successful outcomes.
  • To excel in this role, you will collaborate closely with project managers, bid management, advisory services, and delivery consultants. This collaboration is vital for ensuring the preparation and submission of high-quality bids, including documentation, tender responses, case studies, and conducting demonstrations during the selection process for significant consulting projects or managed services bids.
  • Leading the pre-qualification process is another critical aspect of your role, ensuring that all customer sales opportunities and bids are thoroughly vetted and identified as winnable. Furthermore, you will liaise with delivery teams to secure necessary resources for sales opportunities and bid preparation, optimizing the chances of success.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, you will respond to detailed customer requirements documents, prepare and deliver prospect and client presentations, and collaborate closely with partner account managers and commercial operations to ensure the seamless delivery of presentations, tender responses, and contracts to prospects and clients.
  • Overall, your role entails comprehensive support across all levels of the bid process lifecycle, necessitating a blend of strategic oversight, collaborative engagement, and meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success as a Business Development Director in the IT Services and Technology Solutions sector, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results. Proficient in influencing stakeholders at various levels to ensure timely and high-quality delivery, even without direct reporting lines.
  • Possess outstanding written communication skills, adept at producing tender and internal documentation to a superior standard. Mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders across all levels internally and externally. Capable of building strong relationships to drive business objectives forward.
  • Possess a keen commercial acumen and a solid understanding of project and business dynamics, enabling strategic decision-making and successful outcomes.
