ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL INSTALLATION ENGINEER

Your tasks will range from project development to supporting design in all project phases, including electrical design in connection with project execution, technical support, planning and completions of, electrical and mechanical scopes.


Review of sales material, technical solution proposals and price calculations. You will be responsible for managing interfaces with colleagues, external customers and subcontractors, and you will be in close dialogue with the Engineering department and the quotation and sales departments across the organization.

Dimensioning and preparation of specifications for LV systems such as lighting, earthing, bonding, distribution boards, NAV AIDS, fog signals, Davit Cranes, structural health monitoring systems, cables and routing.
Responsible for the performance of quality control during factory testing at our site or subcontractor sites, if necessary, also for documentation following project completion.

Active participation at our sites in connection with installation, testing and commissioning of both Electrical and Mechanical. Ensure that we receive technical requirements and load input from our internal and external stakeholders. Active participation in our quotation process in collaboration with the quotation department, your team and other technical disciplines.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the electrical test in compliance with electrical rules.
  • Plan and lead all technical resource activities related to the E&I, warranty, parts and tool management with special focus on the planning commitments made.
  • Provide daily reports, including a weekly progress report for Electrical and Mechanical completions, including punch list preparations and identifications
  • Provide support during the assembly and the quality check for the components in the assembly plants.
  • Anticipate and direct timely and effective responses to problems, ensuring that overall installation and operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, comply with all applicable regulations and fulfill quality, schedule.
  • Keep a cost control for the activities described above, driving continuous improvement in field operations and reduce cost and increase the value proposition.
  • Gathering the information necessary from the field to anticipate and response to problems on site, reporting and analyzing together with the different departments.
  • Ensure that technical deviations are reported with a corresponding non-conformance report (NCR).
  • Raise and close all technical queries for the Electrical scope, on all projects.
  • Minimize variations of the program and manage the variation process.
  • Revise the procedures for E&I, implement and focus on process improvements, where possible from subcontractors.
  • Prepare method statements, procedures and ITPs for the scope of Electrical and installations.
  • Inform all site personnel of any site hazards brought about as a direct result of E&IM actions, together with associated precautions.
  • Ensure commissioning tasks are performed in a safe and timely manner in accordance with the contract, budget and time schedule. Providing guidance and support the technical team
  • Identification of risks that affect their area or field of work and define / propose means of prevention and adequate protection to prevent them.
  • Educate and train in work procedures / instructions concerning them safe for their duties.
  • Carry out work according to the rules and procedures, avoiding any acts or omissions at work that might pose a danger or risk to its integrity or the people around them.
  • Wear the personal protective equipment required for individual and groups performing the work safely, checking that they are in perfect condition and ensuring the proper condition of the goods.
  • Immediately report failures, deficiencies, or any situation detected and that may pose a risk to people and anything that might involve some uncontrolled risk.
  • Assume the basic principle that should do the work in the safest possible way for which it is necessary and priority setting the tone of this behavior.


Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor or master degree in Electrical Engineering OR relevance in EIC (Electrical/Instrumentation/Communication;
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical design, construction, maintenance for Oil/Gas rig/module OR Offshore wind OR Vessel construction industries.
  • Experience with managing Design and Supply, Engineering subcontractors, interface management, systems engineering;
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience on LV-systems


Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in offshore wind industry with a focus on LV/HV systems
  • Proven experience on reporting, documentation management, NCR management and Technical Queries.
  • Ability to review, negotiate contracts
  • Ability to prepare and follow Tests and documentation check lists, test plans.
  • Knowledge of specification, design, maintenance, construction and commissioning of wind industry and offshore industry.
  • Electrical knowledge, able to draw schematics.
