IT Support Engineer

JOB TASKS AND SPECIFICATION

  1. Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
  2. Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
  3. responding to technical support calls from end users int a timely manner to service issues and requests.
  4. Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone).
  5. Create and Modify user accounts in Windows Active Directory & Office 365.
  6. Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
  7. Testing new technologyPossibly training more junior staff members
  8. Setting up and installing new computers, networks and software.
  9. Installing updates, known as patches, firmware, to hardware and software applications.
  10. Installing and configuring operating systems, anti-virus software and other applications such as Microsoft Office.
  11. Diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults.
  12. Maintaining inventories of hardware and software.
  13. Keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions, for future reference.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Diploma /ITE or any Tertiary education related to IT.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in a heavy customer focus position involving and technical knowledge of a companies' products and services Knowledge on Data / Voice Networking is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working and assisting others through company help desk software, such as service desk in addition to other remote access desktop programs.
  • Extensive experience working with different operating systems including Windows and Linux.
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently.
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with customers and clients.
  • Experience in installing and configuring computer systems and applications for a large company.
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism and customer feedback regarding their experience with software or IT services.
  • Possess effective communication skills.

Remuneration shall commensurate with relevant work experience.
