We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President Associate, Metals and Mining - Investment Banking.
Principal Responsibilities
- Assist and provide support for senior bankers in preparing analytical and transaction materials, interfacing with clients as required
- Interact with clients and various levels of management; act as an integral part of the engagement team and fully involve self in the business development and/or execution of ‘event-driven’ transactions
- Build the Global Banking franchise value/reputation in the market place
- Contribute to the achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction, cost management
- Work with Global Account Owners/Managers and senior coverage bankers to build the ‘Trusted Advisor’ relationship with clients
- Collaborate with all colleagues to achieve the overall goal of Global Banking and the coverage model
- Project manage ‘event-driven’ transactions, guiding and developing juniors as appropriate
- Participate in the management, training and assessment of junior staff
- Effective use of HSBC GB platforms to share and store information and knowledge with other colleagues
Qualifications
- Metals, Mining and Resources transaction experience required
- M&A and Capital Markets experience preferred
- A generalist Investment Banking/Corporate Finance background
- Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with the client on a multi-dimensional basis
- Strong quantitative skills with ample experience of financial modelling, valuation, and execution
- Experience of managing ‘event-driven’ transactions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Good knowledge of HSBC Group and products, and a strong network of contacts across different business areas
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
