The team operates in a 7x24 model with Singapore covering 2 shifts Monday through Sunday, and Delaware covering 1 shift on Mondays to Sundays. Staff work a 5-day week and some off hour project work required. In business-as-usual work, this position focuses on data restores, storage allocations, performance analysis, and incident response & management.
Responsibilities
• Day-to-day administration of Backup environment, daily failure monitoring, reporting using OpsCenter.
• Day-to-day administration of Block storage estate, including monitoring the Storage ticket queues, Storage Provisioning, SAN/NAS connectivity issues, storage hardware and software issues, storage device performance monitoring, storage sizing, storage integration with systems
• Periodic Reporting – Put in place measures and collect metrics and produce reports for discussion with the end user groups in terms of the health of the environment.
• Communication - Work effectively with other Infrastructure groups including the Network, Server & Database teams as well as the Application Development teams
• Documentation – Document critical processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
• Put in place Storage procedures and follow Company procedures and processes to ensure that Audit and Regulatory requirements are met.
Experience Needed
Around 4 years of strong storage administration experience in a Production environment in a medium to large company with in-depth knowledge of Veritas Netbackup, SAN, NAS and Azure Cloud
• Cloud certification is desirable - preferably Azure.
• Experience with Netapp CVOs and on-prem FAS series is highly desirable
• Basic Experience with some of the following desirable: Shell and Perl scripting, NDMP, Windows Server Administration & Unix administration.
• Working experience on CISCO MDS or Brocade Director class SAN switches
• Multiple years in operations role as a Storage Administrator
• Experience with Veritas Netbackup is Mandatory.
• The position will be required to work on shifts. These shifts will also cover the weekends.
• Workdays could be staggered over the week
