We are seeking a Research Engineer to join a university-level research centre collaborating with industry. The position is for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Successful candidates will be involved in a project that is related to 3D Animation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and produce character animations and shots for projects based on scripts and storyboards
- Ensure the quality and timely progress of outsourced animation projects, coordinating and facilitating smooth operations with external partners
- Understand and implement motion capture technology, including processing data and creative adaptation
- Develop motion designs for interactive live broadcasts
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree or above in relevant disciplines
- Experience in animation, film, or game development
- Strong artistic background with a good understanding of animation principles, and an exceptional ability to compose shots and coordinate visuals
- Expertise in Maya software and familiarity with integrating animations into mainstream engines such as UE4/5
- Experience in creating facial expressions, with the ability to produce cinematic quality facial animations
- Proficiency in various animation plugins and experienced in motion capture
- Outstanding action design skills, with a keen sense of rhythm and the ability to create character-specific animation
