We are seeking a Research Engineer to join a university-level research centre collaborating with industry. The position is for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Successful candidates will be involved in a project that is related to Animation Rigging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create character rigs that allow for realistic and stylized motion
- Utilize and customize existing tools to improve rigging and skinning processes, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency
- Stay up to date with the latest rigging techniques and technologies to continuously improve quality and efficiency
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in relevant disciplines
- Proficiency in Maya software or equivalent 3D software with a solid understanding of rigging and skinning principles
- Knowledge of anatomy and a keen eye for character motion and mechanics
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python to automate tasks and develop custom rigging tools
