We are seeking a skilled Service Technician (Electrical) to join our team at the Sea Forrest Creation Lab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Inspect panels and electrical systems to identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions.
- Conduct regular tests to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure that electrical panels and systems meet the required standards and specifications.
- Document electrical panel specifications, wiring diagrams, and system configurations.
- Coordinate with shipyard for the installation, commissioning and testing of all electrical systems and panels.
- Hands on testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of all supplied electrical systems and panels.
- Work in cooperation with other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that supplied systems pass all relevant class surveys and inspections.
- Produce and document all necessary paperwork for class certifications during commissioning process.
Workshop Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all items in the workshop inventory.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.
- Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies.
Receiving and Dispatch:
- Receive incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
- Verify the accuracy of received items against purchase orders.
- Prepare items for dispatch, ensuring proper packaging and documentation.
Organizing and Storing:
- Arrange and organize materials in the workshop store for easy accessibility.
- Implement an efficient storage system to maximize space utilization.
- Label and categorize items to facilitate quick retrieval.
Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment:
- Keep the workshop area clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling, working with and storing materials.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines in all electrical activities.
- Conduct regular safety checks on electrical systems to mitigate potential hazards.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure that workshop equipment, such as tools, machineries, shelves and racks, are in good condition.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the relevant department.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Able to read drawings and terminate central cables.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for Electrical main switchboard.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Possession of a Class 3 Driving Licence or WSQ Forklift Operator Licence is advantageous.
- Prior work experience in shipyard is advantageous.
