The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual to work as a research fellow. The position is in civil engineering and will focus on AI technologies for intelligent underground infrastructure modeling and monitoring. The earliest starting date for the position will be April 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an IoT prototype for large-scale deployment of tunnel networks.
- Assist both numerical, lab and field tests of tunnel inspection.
- Publish several papers in top journals.
- Write proposals for further development.
- Mentor students
Job Requirements:
- A PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in structural analysis or machine learning.
- Excellent skills for data analytics.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- A good record of referred journal publications or conference presentations is a plus
