About Our Client
Our client is one of Australia's Government lead agency for international trade and investment. It also leads the promotion and development of the defence, international education, science, and innovation sectors in the country.
They drive initiatives for significant investment in large and complex projects, support a network of international offices to promote the country and its industries, and encourage strategic investment and trade opportunities. The Group spearheads the expansion of world-leading energy and mining sectors, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, so they get relevant support and information to build their businesses and expand their exports. They are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Singapore.
Job Description
- Contribute to the delivery of international opportunities through researching and identifying Mining/Energy trade and investment opportunities for the Government and the private sector in the region.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with Government officials and business communities of Singapore and in Australia.
- Respond to requests for information from businesses and the Department.
- Participates in promoting the State and the State's priority sectors to stakeholders.
- Undertake industry and market analysis by means of research to identify potential value addition, trade and investment opportunities.
- Identify trade and Investment opportunities in Singapore and provide support for Australian businesses.
- Assist and coordinate inbound official visits, trade mission programs and major business seminars/exhibitions that promote the State's products and services.
- Research significant developments in the economic and business environment that impacts the State and prepare briefs and supporting documents.
The Successful Applicant
- About 5 years of experience developing business opportunities for international trade in Singapore/ASEAN.
- Experience conducting research and analysis across political, commercial and industrial sectors.
- Strong professional networks and experience across the energy, mining & METs sector is a plus
- Ability to build relationships with key industry and business stakeholders, government and networks.
- Previous experience working with government agencies in a plus
- This a 2 years contract with possible extension.
