Job Description
- Report to the Ship Repair Manager on all task and projects assigned to him.
- Coordinate and oversee ship repair projects assigned from start to completion and ensure the efficient allocation of resources and completion of tasks within planned time frame.
- Carry out Risk assessment on all repair jobs and mitigate all risk to ensure safe working environment
- Collaborate with various team to develop detailed repair plans, including work scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements
- Identify bottleneck and make contingency plan to alleviate any delay
- Record all work done for the project and advise Ship Repair Manager of all works carried out including those additional and variation works.
- Develop positive working relationship with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business
- Complement Ship Repair Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for clients during ship repair projects, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or inquiries
- Coordinate with client, procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of necessary materials and equipment for repair tasks
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce
- Conduct daily VSCC and production meeting for ongoing repair projects
- Any other duties as assigned by the Ship Repair Manager from time to time
Job Requirement
- Bachelor Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture or Ship Science, or Equivalent;
- Experience in ship repair management, preferably in a shipyard or maritime environment
- Strong project management skills with proven track record of successfully executing ship repair projects on time and within budget
- Good understanding of budgeting and reporting
- Solid understanding of safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in ship repair
- Proficient in MS Office
- Proficient in using shipyard-specific software and project management tools
- Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates
