Our client is a local incorporated shipping company and is expanding their team.
They are currently looking for a Fleet IT Application Manager to be part of their team.
Key responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain fleet management software solutions, including features for vessel ERP system, Crew management system & Fleet system integration.
- Collaborate with software developers to customize and enhance software to support fleet management operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define software specifications.
- Monitor the performance of IT systems and networks on vessels, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Oversee the maintenance and management of the IT infrastructure supporting fleet operations, including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
- Ensure that IT systems are operational, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect vessel IT systems and sensitive data from cyber threats.
- Collaborate with IT vendors and service providers to ensure the availability and reliability of IT system on vessels.
- Generate reports on IT performance, issues, and improvements for management.
- To ensure successful delivery of the Fleet project and IT activities to support the business IT requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 years' experience in developing and implementing major IT systems (preferrable Fleet, Shipping system), at least 3 years of which should be in a project management or project leadership role.
- Previous experience in managing IT operations in a maritime or shipping environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and remote maritime environment.
- Understanding of web services/API interface to various system
- Good communication & interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with overseas partners and stakeholders.
