Job Description: Waiter in Chinese Restaurant

We are looking for a versatile and customer-focused individual to fill the position of Waiter in our esteemed Chinese restaurant. As a bilingual English and Chinese speaker, you will serve as a crucial link in providing exceptional service to our guests, both in the dining area and with delivery orders. You must also be proficient in handling our POS system to ensure seamless transactions and efficient order processing.

Responsibilities:

1. Warmly welcome guests and guide them to their tables, offering menus and assistance as needed.
2. Provide detailed explanations of menu items, make recommendations, and accurately record guests' orders.
3. Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests, both in the dining area and for delivery orders.
4. Handle cash and card transactions using the POS system, providing accurate receipts and processing payments efficiently.
5. Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
6. Manage delivery orders, including receiving, processing, and dispatching them to customers in a timely manner.
7. Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints courteously and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, service stations, and delivery counter.
9. Collaborate closely with team members to optimize restaurant operations and uphold service standards.
10. Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times, ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Requirements:

1. Fluent in both English and Chinese to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
2. Previous experience in a restaurant setting, with knowledge of POS systems and order processing procedures.
3. Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
4. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling both dining and delivery orders simultaneously.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders and payments.
6. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
7. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift/move heavy trays, and handle delivery packages.
8. Familiarity with Chinese cuisine and cultural norms is advantageous.
9. Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn and grow within the role.
10. Possession of a valid food handler's permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
