Develop electronic systems for spacecraft, including satellites.
The tasks for this role include:
1. Building electronic circuits to control motors, magnetorquers and solenoid valves
2. Embedding microcontrollers into the electronics circuit and programming the microcontroller to be able to communicate with the central satellite computer; this includes implementing interfaces such as CAN, I2C, and SPI
3. Building circuits for voltage conversion and current sensing
4. Building circuitry to interface with sensors such as fine sun sensors, coarse sun sensors, magnetometers, GNSS receivers and gyroscopes
5. Rigorous testing and verification of circuits
6. Choosing the appropriate PCB fabrication class
7. Design for mass production, including an understanding of working with suppliers from around the world, to enable us to work at the speed of light (or whatever is found to be faster...)
Qualifications & Experience
You must have developed full electronic systems, all the way from conception to a functional physical system. You will need to show us the projects in your portfolio.
Person & Environment
1. We seriously value working harmoniously together. If you are a lone wolf do not apply, even if you have the skills.
2. We work with items that go to outer space, so we expect a slightly higher level of cleanliness than may be the norm at other engineering companies.
Benefits
1. Great compensation. Pay is in cash and equity (!)
2. You'll be involved in engineering systems that enable a complete reimagination of humanity's place in the universe. We are working towards buiding systems that signficantly increase the number and type of space missions, and truly enable solar system-wide exploration.
