You will be part of the Inspection Service Business Unit that provides inspection and assessment on petrochemical and chemical plants pipelines for refineries, storage tanks and off-shore platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform internal and external inspections to ensure that the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document are met
- Interpret regulations, codes and industry standards
- Perform inspection/NDT as required by job assignment
- Maintain equipment assigned to ensure that it is in good working condition
- Recommend and approve repairs and perform visual inspection of completed work
- Write detailed inspection reports and maintain documentation of inspections
- Compile and submit daily reports, inspection reports, and inter‐office communications in a timely manner
- Maintain positive relationships among all stakeholders: client, facility, customer and coworkers
- Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors
- Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines
- Prepare risk assessment before commencement of work and ensure that all safety policies and procedures are strictly adhered to
Key Requirements:
- Good knowledge of pressure equipment /piping/ tanks manufacturing Code, like ASME, API
- Able to interpret NDT (radiography, UT, PT, MPI) results
- Able to review the working procedures, ITP
- Have good knowledge of welding processes
- Experienced with pre -turnaround, shutdown preparation inspections.
- Have good knowledge of materials and pipes/equipment used in the refinery and their damage mechanism including CUI
- Have good interpersonal communication skills in the execution of the piping inspection duties
- Be able to perform QA of all piping/equipment repair work and liaise with contractor/ sub contractor, NDT teams ,maintenance & operation personnel
- Able to assess the risks and hazard related to each job activities and comply with all safety regulations in the plant without fail.
- Observe working time and be expected to work overtime
- Observe company procedure, statutory requirements in executing inspection of piping, equipment and repair work
- Identify piping/Equipment from PFS, PEFS or GA drawing
- Read piping on Isometric drawing and understand the dimension, material, piping component, process condition
- Read equipment drawing and understand size, thickness, material, component, process condition
- Review and summarize the inspection history, sort out the inspection focus areas
- Plan inspection work on daily, weekly and monthly base and report progress to engineers
- Preparation for field inspection with necessary drawing, check list and tools
- Follow site safety rules and regulations strictly
- Physical thorough inspect piping, components at site for both external and internal corrosion of piping and equipment
- Determine the severity of corrosion/damage – remaining thickness, and size and pattern of corrosion
- Identify area and location for NDT, and liaise with NDT contractors, review and compile all NDT reports in an accurate and concise manner
- Monitoring the quality and productivity of work done by NDT team and ensure that it is in accordance to correct work procedures
- Obtain operation condition from operation and process technologist
- Calculate corrosion rate and remaining life
- Recommend for maintenance and repair work with clear scope
- Provide quality assurance for maintenance and repair work and assure it is done as per quality requirement/ITP, Code/Standard requirement
- Supervise other special inspection work, such as abseiling, drone inspection or remote visual inspection as required
- Draft proper inspection report and keep all inspection records in a systematic and timely manner
- Set the recommended next inspection interval and scope.
