The main objective of the department is to assist the General Manager and Deputy General Manager in the management of Singapore Branch office and subsidiaries of its business-related activities, as well as support our senior executives in both Smart Life Creation (S.L.C.) Group and Mobility Group in our head office in Tokyo.
In doing so, you will collaborate deeply with our colleagues in our head office in Tokyo, as well as our group companies in Singapore. Building and developing networks with the local counterparts and government authorities where necessary. You are expected to explore business opportunities to address issues and needs from the consumer’s perspective by linking digital capabilities with the real world; and to provide mobility solutions that support the optimal movement of people and goods.
The role includes but not limited to the followings:
- To lead and manage activities of the S.L.C. & Mobility Department.
- Based on each business situation of S.L.C. & Mobility Groups’ subsidiaries and group companies in Singapore, define business strategies, reach a consensus with Tokyo HQ and support the activities of those frontline group companies.
- Leveraging the Singapore’s unique political/business environment, create new business models which are aligned with the Company’s direction and S.L.C. & Mobility Groups’ business strategies.
- To gather and analyze reports to identify market trends, new destinations and growth opportunities in relevant business industries in Singapore and Asia-Oceania region.
- Support activities of both S.L.C. & Mobility Groups and its subsidiaries in Singapore and Asia-Oceania region.
- Create strong relationships with existing and potential business partners in Singapore and Asia-Oceania region.
- To ensure regulatory compliance (Board Meetings, Annual General Meetings, Audit & Taxation etc.) for new and existing businesses.
- To guide, train, develop and motivate a diverse group of team members and communicating in English & Japanese for effective team management.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent.
- Skills, expertise and experiences to research, develop and deploy new businesses in relation to industry digital transformation and mobility.
- High proficiency in Japanese and English (listening, speaking and writing) to communicate effectively through phone calls, emails and/or meetings with the head office in Tokyo, as well as both local and expatriate staff in the branch office and subsidiary companies.
- Skills to create and present materials both in Japanese and English in order to communicate with counterparties.
- Cross cultural efficacy to facilitate effective communication with Tokyo HQ, subsidiaries and department staff in Singapore and Asia-Oceania region.
- More than 8 years’ experience in abovementioned requirements.
