Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and serve menu items in accordance with menu recipes and standards.
- Set up workstations and gather all necessary supplies for menu preparation.
- Create mise-en-place for daily menus, including basic sauces and additional garnishes.
- Monitor and date stamp food items to ensure freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food storage areas.
- Notify the Chef in charge of replenishment needs and new orders.
- Adhere to ingredient handling instructions to minimize food waste.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Open and close workstations following checklist procedures.
- Ensure high levels of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety in all kitchen areas at all times.
- Take responsibility for personal development and attend training sessions or courses as required.
- Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Culinary school certification or diploma is a plus; practical experience and basic education will also be considered.
- Proficient in preparing a variety of foods, including appetizers, soups, and main courses.
- Hands-on experience in garnishing, plating, and serving food.
