Job Overview: This position will be responsible for managing Oracle database in ASO
Job Responsibilities:
· Perform all aspects of database administration including installs, builds, upgrades, object sizing, object creation, users, backup/recovery, patches, monitoring, export/imports, and SQL loader
· Manage ASM storage migration, Creation of Diskgroup, Rebalancing the diskgroup and alter diskgroups
· Implement Installation/Configuration of Data Guard Broker and testing all Failover scenarios
· Installation, Configuration and Administration of Oracle RAC Database
· Participation in design reviews with other SME’s for projects to recommend and implement emerging DB technologies
· Creation of HLD and LLD documents to be shared for implementation
· Investigation & troubleshooting of issues reported by business owners.
· Drive best practices across the service delivery team
· Maintain database security and disaster recovery procedures.
· Batch management, Patch management, disk space administration, performance tuning
· Backup/Restore, Systems tuning, Database backup/restore
· Perform daily health check for every database.
· Configure Monitoring Alerts (e.g Tablespace, ASM Usage, Audit, RMAN Backup, OS Space etc…).
· Create / manage DB reports and automate repeated DB tasks
· Be available on-call support as needed.
Qualifications:
· 10+ Years of experience with Oracle, preferably in a lead role. Experience should include DB design (modelling and normalization), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, back-up, and recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies.
· Experience in supporting various Oracle, DB DB2 (Version 10 onwards), Mysql database hosted on RHEL platform.
· Operating system experience in Linux.
· Oracle management tools (Data Guard, RMAN, Data pump).
· Architecture design principles.
· Strong command of SQL, Advanced knowledge of DB security, backup & recovery, Performance monitoring and standards
· Good problem solver focused and dedicated developer with ability to work on your own as well as with a team.
· Hands on experience with DB standards and end user applications-translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment technology.
· Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment.
· Must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
· Experience with an organization with a key reliance on 24x7 reliability on its database.
· Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts/shell scripting.
· Expertise in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for DB2/Oracle/Postgres (HADR).
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
