Candidates are expected to:-
- Participate in the general planning of maintenance and operations onboard vessel;
- Control the detailed implementation of the general plans in appropriate areas;
- Plan the activities of immediate subordinates and officers under his/her charge;
- Serve as a member of the Management Team onboard vessel;
- Implement safety policies and practices onboard vessels according to the QHSSE policies as defined;
- Perform the role of the Training Officer for any Engineer Cadets/Ratings;
- Deputise for the Chief Engineer when necessary; and
- Appraise the performance of immediate subordinates and Cadets and report to Chief Engineer.
The ideal candidate must:-
- Possess a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer Class II); and
- Possess at least 3 years of experience as a Second Engineer Officer onboard a container vessel.
