Data Collection and Processing:

  • Collect and consolidate data from various sources, including market data feeds, internal databases, and external data providers.
  • Clean, preprocess, and organize large datasets to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Utilize statistical methods, mathematical models, and data analysis techniques to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in commodity market data.
  • Analyze historical and real-time market data to provide insights into market movements, pricing trends, and risk factors.

Market Research and Forecasting:

  • Conduct market research to stay informed about global economic trends, geopolitical events, and other factors influencing commodity prices.
  • Develop and implement forecasting models to predict future market movements and commodity price trends.

Risk Management:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of risk models to assess and manage the potential risks associated with commodity trading activities.
  • Work with risk management teams to identify and mitigate risks related to market volatility and price fluctuations.

Reporting and Visualization:

  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key insights to stakeholders, including traders, senior management, and other decision-makers.
  • Present findings in a clear and understandable manner to support strategic decision-making.

Database Management:

  • Manage and maintain databases that store historical and current market data, trade information, and other relevant data sets.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility for analytical purposes.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Collaborate with traders, risk analysts, finance professionals, and other cross-functional teams to align data analysis efforts with business objectives.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support commodity trading strategies and decision-making.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies in data analytics to enhance analytical capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, or information management.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or others.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and tools.
  • Familiarity with database systems and data querying languages (MS SQL).
  • Understanding of mathematical concepts, including probability, calculus, algebra, and statistics.
  • Logical approach to problem-solving and ability to develop creative solutions based on data analysis.
  • Ability to gather actionable requirements from various offices (Front/Middle/Back).
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in analysis and reporting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and insights to stakeholders.
