Our client, a newly established re/insurance brokerage, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to oversee the full spectrum of finance and administrative functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficient office administration.

About the job

  1. MAS Reporting: Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory reports to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  2. Head Office Reporting: Coordinate and manage reporting activities to the head office, providing timely and accurate financial information.
  3. MAS Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory updates and ensure compliance with MAS guidelines and requirements across all finance operations.
  4. HR Tasks: Oversee HR-related functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
  5. Office Administration: Manage office administration duties, including facilities management, procurement, and vendor relationships.
  6. Financial Management: Supervise financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing strategic insights to support business growth and sustainability.
  7. Internal Controls: Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

Skills and experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of MAS regulations and reporting requirements, with proven experience in MAS compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
