Get to Know the Role
We are seeking a Development Engineer to join the Development team in our mask blank factory. Our team focuses on pilot line launching for new products and technology. As a Development Engineer, you will participate in the development of deposition processes that focus on product transfer, yield, quality, and throughput improvements. We have a strong emphasis on statistics-driven methods for experimental design and data analysis. You will coordinate with the R&D team at our facility in Japan to provide engineering support for all activities and new product set-up.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Product Pilots, Monitoring, and Troubleshoot:
· Take ownership of the pilot line in new product setup and launching.
· Monitor thin film properties and defect performance throughout the production cycle by adhering to specifications.
· Utilize statistical methods such as SPC and six sigma to ensure process control and monitoring.
· Conduct process metrics, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), to investigate problems and support process improvements.
2. Quality Assurance:
· Initiate and lead continuous quality improvement plans.
· Collaborate closely with production, equipment engineering, and the quality assurance team to address customer feedback and quality issues.
3. Process Documentation:
· Create and maintain process documentation that fulfills ISO practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
4. R&D Support:
· Partner with and support the R&D team in their experimental endeavors and sample making to enable the realization of technology roadmaps.
Skills and Competencies
1. Experience in a quality-certified environment, such as ISO9001, 5S, 8D, Lean Six Sigma.
2. Experience demonstrating statistical skills in data analysis, with good knowledge of tools such as JMP, Minitab, DOE, and SPC.
3. Experience with the use of tools such as Ellipsometer, X-ray reflectometry, SEM, and EDX.
4. Strong understanding of thin film metallurgy and deposition processes and equipment (Ion beam deposition, PVD, CVD).
Additional Information
1. Degree or Masters in Material Science or Engineering.
2. Minimum of more than 5 years of related working experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred.
3. Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and perform overtime as necessary.
