RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist the Head of CFCC Advisory CCIB Singapore in providing dedicated support and advisory on regulatory matters to CCIB in order that the Business can operate to the highest standards of conduct and ethics by complying with applicable regulatory requirements and adhering to internal policies, procedures and standards.

· Support and implement the vision, strategy and direction of the Singapore CFCC CCIB team, consistent with the vision and strategy of the Global CFCC function and in support of the Bank’s strategic direction and growth aspirations

· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters relating to CCIB

· Within the Group's overall Risk Management Framework, establish and maintain appropriate risk-based compliance frameworks for identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, mitigating and reporting compliance risks across CCIB in Singapore

· Execute the relevant aspects of the CFCC framework through robust independent risk control and the provision of specialist advice and constructive challenge in a manner proportionate to the nature, scale and complexity of CCIB’s business

· Support the management of the regulatory relationships with each of the Bank’s regulators

· Ensure proactive and timely identification, assessment, advice and dissemination of evolving regulatory changes/practices and associated risks, and proactive engagement in regulatory reform

· Ensure effective management of compliance matters, and in collaboration with other CFCC teams, effectively manage regulatory issues that may have a significant impact on CCIB in Singapore

· Promote and embed a compliance culture throughout CCIB in Singapore

· Maintain constructive and effective relationships with Business stakeholders, and assist Head, CFCC, CCIB, SG to interface with and support all key business stakeholders

· Proactively support and challenge CCIB in Singapore to exhibit appropriate conduct, comply with regulatory and compliance requirements and strive to achieve fair outcomes for the Bank’s clients

· Establish and maintain effective processes (including training, advice and support) to ensure that policies, procedures and standards to address compliance risks are effectively implemented and adhered to across CCIB in Singapore

· Maintain adequate management monitoring indicators/trackers across all aspects of coverage and responsibility to ensure all issues and matters are tracked, followed, regularly assessed and reported on

· Provide reports to relevant Group and Business risk and control committees and management group on key compliance risks and issues

· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

· Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in CFCC Advisory CCIB; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Our Ideal Candidate

· Degree holder

· 4+ years of experience as a Compliance/Legal professional in the financial services or related professional services industry.

· Excellent knowledge of financial/banking products, as well as laws and regulations

· Direct experience in managing detailed compliance and banking processes, regulatory relationship management and/or in audit or operational risk management roles is a major plus

· Prerequisite skills include being a fast learner, intellectual, self-motivated, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently within a team, effective communication skills, a strong analytical mindset, ability to work under pressure, and to exercise sound judgment to provide practical and effective advice.

· Highest level of integrity and exemplary conduct is expected
