Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the production and operations of our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production, process optimization, and team leadership. He will be responsible for managing plant operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Lead and oversee the day-to-day production activities of the facility, including raw material preparation to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Implement and optimize manufacturing processes and procedures to maximize production efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and reduce production costs while maintaining product quality.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and control the quality of products throughout the production process.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure adequate supply for production while minimizing inventory holding costs and obsolescence risks. Manage logistic and distribution channels.
- Maintenance and Reliability: Ensure equipment reliability and availability to support uninterrupted production.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of production staff, operators, technicians, and supervisors. Enhance team performance and productivity.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and operational improvements. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, lean initiatives, and operational excellence programs to drive performance improvements.
- Budget and Cost Management: To assist, develop and manage the plant budget, monitor expenses, and optimize cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements to achieve financial targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as supply chain and sales teams, to ensure alignment of production plans with market demand and customer requirements. Liaise with external stakeholders, such as Jurong Port authorities, regulatory agencies and community representatives, to address environmental and community concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Buiding and Civil Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with demonstrated expertise.
- Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and technology, with a proven track record of process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office
