Job Description:

  • Assist Head of Strategy in business partnering with the company leadership and their teams to drive and develop an integrated view of all strategic goals and drivers across the organization.
  • Lead the annual business planning process. Developing and implementing strategic initiatives that will drive growth and profitability in the life insurance business.
  • Act as a trust internal consultant to lead strategic initiatives, potential go to market opportunities and drive the strategic direction for the business through the annual business planning cycle.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in Singapore life insurance industry and identify organic and inorganic opportunities for the business.
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategy and Leadership team to develop market and competitor intelligence capability and implement strategies that address market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive pressures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and provide strategic recommendations as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure alignment and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Work with various functions to oversee the production and review of strategic reports for Local & Group Senior Management, including the business plan, quarterly business performance dialogue and strategic key performance indicators (KPIs) for the organisation and leadership team.
  • Utilise data analytics tools to analyse company-wide data and generate insights for strategic decisions making.
  • To demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise.

Competencies & Personal Traits

  • Must have a solid quantitative and analytical aptitude
  • Must be comfortable organising unstructured information and forming reasonable linkages and hypotheses
  • Possess the ability to broadly think across a range of strategic issues and connect the dots
  • Has strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact congenially with cross-functional colleagues across different levels
  • Has strong communication and public presentation skills
  • More importantly, the successful candidate is a self-starter with the intellectual curiosity to problem-solve as well as the personal discipline/ pride to see through a high-quality of work

Qualifications and Working Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative business subject (Finance, Accounting, Research), MBA / CFA is advantageous
  • Must possess high proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • +5 years of generalist strategy or implementation consulting experience is ideal, although not mandatory
