MAJOR FUNCTION
The function of the Human Resource Manager role is to shape the performance and development systems for all employees across the various centres of Catholic Preschool Education. He/She will be aligning and supporting talent frameworks including performance management, succession planning and workforce/human resource planning whilst guiding and managing Human Resources services for the organisation. The HR Manager will lead all HR’s practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high performance culture emphasising quality, productivity, goal attainment and empowerment and is responsible for the development of processes and reporting metrics that support the achievement of the organisation’s business goals. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and working closely with colleagues from the various centres to ensure all HR duties are undertaken in accordance with employment law, company policy and ensuring any risk to the business is minimised.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Oversee end to end recruitment, onboarding and induction; produce offer letters, contracts and letters detailing changes in employment conditions.
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the various kindergarten and childcare centres of the group.
- Assist in the preparation and updating of employee handbook.
- Complete leavers’ processes such as exit interviews.
- Nurture a positive working environment.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that aligns with ECDA’s skills framework.
- Manage the payroll function.
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
- To help to create and promote an image of the school which is in accordance with its ethos and values.
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
- To keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and human resource best practice.
- To undertake routine and exceptional duties as required.
