• Maintains and manages daily activities related to the receiving, storing, and shipping of materials or finished goods
• Oversees and manages all logistics activities (in-bound and out-bound) to ensure on-time delivery and cost effectiveness in logistics operations
• Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, and delivered to inventory, and kitted timely to meet production schedules, and finished goods are packaged and shipped in a timely manner.
• Ensures and arranges for proper declaration of custom and duties, and adequate marine insurance coverage, where applicable
• Analyses and reports on freight costs and services, and identify opportunities for freight/logistics cost savings
• Ensure security, compliance with regulations and safety measures, and accountability of materials and goods
• Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures to optimize space and manpower to ensure efficient warehouse operations
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
• Acts as advisor for all warehouse related issues, may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems
• Interacts with senior management on matters concerning functional areas and customers
Requirements
• Degree / Diploma related to Supply Chain, and/or Logistics discipline with 8 years of experience in warehouse/logistics management in a manufacturing environment
• Experienced in the use of Warehouse Management in a MRP environment.
• Experience in warehouse and logistics operations in high mixed low volume manufacturing
• Experience in Air, Sea and Land Transportation
• Strong leadership, good communications skills and ability to work well under tight schedules
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work across teams and a good team player
