Programme Executive (Part Time)

Yong-en's monthly food distribution programme consists of monthly dried food rations containing healthier food staple items (Pantry Plenish), fortnightly bread and breakfast staples (Bread Walk), and fresh food distribution to alleviate the financial burdens of low-income families and seniors in Chinatown, Jalan Kukoh and York Hill and to provide psycho-social support to these families including educating them on healthier food choices.. We are looking for a team member who loves to meet new people and enjoys coordinating with beneficiaries, as well as volunteers, to support a good cause in improving the well-being of those in need in our community.


Job Responsibilities

  • Procurement and inventory management of food rations/supplies.
  • Maintain records and administratively track procured/donated supplies and the distribution status.
  • Provide induction and orientation briefing to new donors/volunteers.
  • Lead groups of corporate/individual volunteers to distribute food rations to beneficiaries at Pearls Hill or Chinatown.
  • Follow up with the beneficiaries on their wellbeing/needs based on the feedback documented by the regular befrienders.
  • Schedule and coordinate volunteers to engage the elderly and needy families in the community.
  • Provide or support social-psychological education on healthier eating and living to beneficiaries
  • Provision of support in groupwork and routine statistical reporting.
  • Support organizational planned events.
  • Participate in collaborated events.


Job Requirements

  • Min GCE A Levels or Diploma holder
  • At least 3 – 4 years of relevant working experience. Candidate with background in volunteer/event management is a plus.
  • Resourceful, proactive, responsible, client-centric, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to exercise cultural sensitivity to administer job functions in a secular setting.
  • Honest, resilient, teachable, and passionate about working with vulnerable seniors and low-income families in the community
  • Strong team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills (competency in some dialects is a plus).
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office and report writing skills
  • Committed to safeguarding client’s confidentiality in accordance with PDPA regulations.
  • Physically able to manage loading of food stuff
  • Hands-on, able to multi-task and work independently
  • Able to commit 2 to 3 days per week including a Saturday morning once a month
