Job Title: Accountant

Job Scope:


1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts in alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Utilise financial modelling techniques to analyse data trends and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of various business initiatives and propose recommendations for optimisation.


2. Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for diverse stakeholders, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Customise financial presentations tailored to the needs of senior management, shareholders, and regulatory authorities, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Continuously enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.


3. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential financial risks through thorough analysis and develop robust risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organisation's assets.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to minimise risk exposure and ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and address emerging risks, fostering a culture of risk awareness and proactive management.


4. Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor cash flow patterns and liquidity requirements to optimize working capital utilisation and maintain financial stability.
  • Forecast short-term and long-term cash needs, facilitating timely decision-making regarding financing activities and investment opportunities.
  • Implement cash flow monitoring tools and strategies to minimize the impact of fluctuations and mitigate liquidity risks.

5. Investment Management:

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to evaluate investment opportunities and assess their alignment with organizational goals and risk tolerance.
  • Develop investment strategies and recommendations for capital allocation, considering factors such as risk-return profiles and market conditions.
  • Monitor investment performance and adjust strategies as needed to maximize returns while minimizing risk exposure.

6. Financial Operations:

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Streamline financial processes and leverage automation tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Provide guidance and support to finance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

7. Financial Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial laws by maintaining robust internal controls and documentation processes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, facilitating audits and providing necessary documentation and support to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and proactively implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks.


8. Financial Strategy:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine financial strategies that align with the organisation's mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations based on comprehensive analysis and market intelligence, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies and propose adjustments as needed to optimize outcomes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
