Main Duties and Responsibilities
Learning, Teaching and Assessment
- Provide outstanding academic leadership across the School in teaching, including development and maintenance of academic standards.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and set assessment and learning activities to a range of classes and age groups of students (including overseas colleges, if required).
- Monitor student progress through the application of formative and summative assessment strategies that support appropriate feedback and skills development.
- Monitor student success rates to an agreed standard across all student levels.
- Conduct administration duties pertinent to the programmes of study in the School.
- Review and ensure the quality of all examination papers set for the School and manage the moderation of examination results.
- Conduct objective assessments on examination appeal cases.
Application Assessment
- Assess and approve international and local applications.
- Escalate or refer applications to the Head of School for further assessment where necessary.
- Coordinate with university partners on any progression matters, if necessary.
- Review and execute academic and language minimum entry requirements for all programmes for the Schools.
Curriculum/Partnership Development, Management and Administration
- Periodically review and develop programmes pertinent to the School to ensure continued relevance and quality improvement of curricula.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate teaching materials to cover the learning outcomes of the different programmes of study.
- Develop online learning strategies with a duality of pedagogical functions (online learning, Blended learning).
- Lead in exploring new programmes to grow the School.
- Manage academic partnerships and courses.
- Coordinate and prepare information for inspection and quality assurance assessments.
- Improve the management of administrative resources including the optimal use of shared services.
- Deliver responsive quality assurance processes and outcomes that promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of partnerships with national and international academic and non-academic organisations, government and commercial sector.
- Represent and work closely in Academic Committees
Management of Staff
- Responsible for the management of academic staff in the School.
- Mentor and advise new academic colleagues (including Associate Lecturers) and provide support, where necessary.
- Review and approve teaching assignments for Associate Lecturers.
- Assign and manage academic workloads for all full-time academic in the School.
Student Success
- Manage and engage students during classroom management.
- Engage in student development by providing strong learning support and monitoring of students’ academic performances.
- Advise students with respect to academic performance, and pursuit of advanced studies
- Conduct and assign staff to assist in new student orientation.
- Refer students with academic or personal difficulties to the appropriate channels of support within the Academy.
Budget/P & L Responsibility
- Responsible in budgeting and managing cost for academic areas.
Others
- Represent and participate in marketing events for the School.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required by the company from time to time.
Requirements
- 8 and more years in related industry, with significant professional experience in the education field and leadership capacity. Ability to relate to students of diverse nationality, academic and social background will be useful.
- Experience or knowledge of module and programme leadership, development and administration within a higher education environment.
- Ability to engage with and enable organisational change based on a well-developed vision by the senior management team.
- Evidence of engagement in professional practice and the ability to design, deliver and assess a range of modules in and related to specialist areas of professional practice.
- Enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary context.
- Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
- Experience in working with digital technology including an interest in emerging technology and techniques and maintaining an active interest in related developments within the sector.
- Significant leadership and management experience in higher education.
- Experience or knowledge of module and programme leadership, development and administration within a higher education environment.
- Ability to engage with and enable organisational change based on a well-developed vision by the senior management team.
- Evidence of engagement in professional practice and the ability to design, deliver and assess a range of modules in and related to specialist areas of professional practice.
- Enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary context.

- Classes are conducted in day/evening/weekend depending on schedule/programme.
