The Delivery Manager is required to manage the delivery of new systems/modules and enhancements for existing systems.
The incumbent will complement the existing SCRUM Master in managing the offshore and inshore delivery teams and outputs.
Job Description
General
- Define application engineering methodologies, standards, leading practices and delivery processes and ensure adherence by the team.
- Build rapport with key business stakeholders and collaborate with business to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide coverage for Scrum Master in conducting daily stand-up meetings, tracking sprint delivery and performing retrospective reviews after each sprint.
- Where project manager is not assigned/available, Delivery Manager may be tasked to take on the PM role for small projects. Deliverables will include capex paper, project plan and capex budget tracking.
- Prepare and maintain application and data architecture documents.
Delivery
- PLAN: Collaborate with key stakeholders such as project manager, scrum master, technical leads and key business stakeholders where applicable, to plan and schedule deliveries.
- DESIGN: Ensure business requirements are well documented and clearly communicated to developers and testers (either in house resources or vendors). Design and document solutions in collaboration with technical leads including preparation of technical user stories.
- BUILD: Manage a team of developers and ensure delivery processes are adhered to and new systems/enhancements that have been committed to business are delivered on time and with quality. Perform code review to ensure team has developed efficient and maintainable code. Provide technical guidance and assist with removal of development blockers. Ensure unit test cases are prepared and executed by developers.
- TEST: Review SIT test plan and outcomes. Review UAT plan, test cases and coordinate with users and testing team on actual UAT execution and resolution of UAT defects. Ensure regression and sanity tests are performed for major deployments. Track test automation deliverables and ensure that test automation has kept pace with sprint deliveries.
- RELEASE: Review and approve release notes and coordinate with IT Ops, business stakeholders and vendors/developers for the release to production and verifications.
Post Delivery
- Manage the resolution of production issues and work with the team on providing the root cause analysis and closing the issues with business users.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in business and/or technology
- At least 5 years’ experience in IT service delivery and/or software development in a comparable organization.
- Have hands-on experience building, integrating and delivering complex enterprise wide and customer facing IT systems.
- Experience in designing solutions and creating low level designs of entire applications including interfaces, servers and workflows.
- Experience in client relationship management and/or project management in a technological context.
- Able to communicate effectively across the organization including business and technology personnel.
- Prior experience engaging with senior management and C-suite level.
- Have managed a team of multi-skilled engineers of varying backgrounds, nationalities and sied in different geographical locations.
- Have vendor management experience for project delivery and/or application maintenance.
- Have experience in setup/automation of CI/CD pipelines
The following skills are preferred:
- Well versed in Agile DevOps routines and Microsoft Azure DevOps Tool.
- Knowledge of .net and Microsoft standards and frameworks and windows services.
- Hands-on experience with designing Web/REST APIs
