- Learning about the International (Re)insurance Markets to gain an understanding about (Re)insurance.
- Understand the environment in which Price Forbes operates in.
- Understand the workings of the company and each of its functions, as well as the market that the business operates in.
- Gain an understanding of Price Forbes’s key specialisms in other areas.
- Learning the account opening and broking procedures (i.e. KYCs, placing checklist, conducting sanction checks, clauses, subjectivities, warranties, due dates, premium and commission computation etc.)
- Providing support to the Marine Specialty Broking Team in the preparation of placement slips & endorsements as well as the Technical Administration and Claims process.
- To learn and understand clients’ (re)insurance arrangements.
- Become an effective team member and collaborate well with peers in both the London and Global offices.
- To develop and foster relationships with clients.
- To work on allocated tasks and projects as directed in order to facilitate business operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Learn to manage the (re)insurance intermediation as part of the team including risk placing, client servicing, claims handling, and associated functions.
- Learn to produce clear and accurate documents and wordings for clients which provide the best possible cover in the market and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
- Learn to use appropriate class of business knowledge to produce contract documents and documents suited to the client’s needs.
- Understand the amendments to policies/contract documents produced prior to agreement by Underwriters.
- Learn to deal and resolve client or underwriter’s queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Learn the use of TradEd and Brokasure/GXB to help drive and encourage adoption of it throughout Price Forbes, and to ensure that Tracking is completed promptly to reflect the status of any risk.
- To ensure sound business practices and an adequate and pro-active risk control framework within the team and work within the authority.
- Maintain up-to-date and orderly files, and ensure documents are saved and files are passed on to the others in accordance with Company Rules and Procedures.
- Check final contract documents against slip or proposal details to ensure appropriateness of the proposed standard policy.
- To work closely with Finance department in resolving accounting and technical queries.
- Provide and gather information to and from Clients and Underwriters as required.
- Facilitate KYC compliance checks as relevant.
- Escalate any potential problems to senior brokers and account executives.
- Maintain proper meeting and call records.
Others:
- Coordinate for events and conferences.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Essentials:
- Diploma holder or equivalent. No prior experience required.
- Immediate availability highly appreciated.
- Eager and willing to learn.
