As an L3 Software Engineer at Synthesis, you will help architect, build, and deploy in-house data analytics applications, ranging from plugins to large-scale distributed systems. This helps our data scientists & cultural strategists to deliver robust consumer insights and decision frameworks to marketing professionals. You will also help provide technical leadership to the business and drive innovation. If you love building data-intensive applications and solving business problems, come join our team!

We are looking for Full-Stack Software Engineers with at least 3-5 years of working experience.

This role is for you if you...

You’ll need

  • A solid understanding of Python with more than 3 years of experience
  • A DevOps mindset - execute what you build!
  • Software Architecture knowledge - Microservices, Distributed Systems, Data-Intensive Systems
  • Excellent leadership skills. You’ll provide strong technical leadership, with the ability to shape decisions by the engineering and data science teams to drive performance and innovation. You’ll also play a role in shaping and implementing the company's technology strategy, ensuring that it supports the businesses long-term goals.
  • Openness and enjoyment of iteratively developing your ideas. You’ll draw on the value of the diverse experience and perspectives of those around you, as you will be working in a tight-knit multidisciplinary team in an early stage development operation

Advantageous, but not required or interest in any of the following areas:

About Working Here

We work as a tight-knit team, meaning you’ll work side by side with cultural strategists, data scientists, and software engineers to create internal solutions that help them in their day-to-day workflow and establish rigour and scalability in our internally developed IP. Since we are relatively small, you will see the impact of your work first-hand .

We are a diverse team, we value creativity, ‘plussing’ mindset and collaboration. To help create this we offer flexible working and a supportive environment. This includes the following benefits:

  • Twice yearly, profit share bonus scheme—so everyone is collectively rewarded for business performance.
  • 20 days paid vacation per annum + public holidays + whole company paid ‘reset week’ between Christmas and New Year.
  • 10:00-15:00 core working hours for meetings, start and end the week together with key in person meetings—weekly team briefing on Monday & company Showcase on Thursday—otherwise flexible working.
  • 12 weeks paid maternity leave or 4 weeks paid paternity leave.
  • Performance Program to support continuous learning, including an annual conference or learning budget, time allocated for learning and mentorship.
