Job Description

This project focuses on policy and ideological mobility of the “smart city” between Asia and Africa. The international research team consists of two geographers, a philosopher, and an urban planning scholar. We are looking to appoint one research assistant in the short term, with the possibility of re-appointment in the future.


The major tasks include reviewing literature, collecting secondary data (city plans, news reports, and policy documents, etc.), qualitatively analyzing the data, and writing research reports. Other duties are contingent on the progress of the project.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (and preferably master’s) degree in geography, urban studies, and related social sciences.
• Capacity to work independently, good time management, strong team spirit.
• Experience and knowledge in human geography and critical urban studies.
• Experience in qualitative research.
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
